Keyloggers watch what keyboard keys are being pressed and can then send the info to wherever they have been programmed to send...usually e-mail acounts or ftp. Of course if you employ a few tricks, you can avoid keyloggers.
Such as:
1.Use the onboard keyboard when logging in, keyloggers cannot track this.
or
2.Part paste, part type your passphrase
or
3.type your passphrase in an illogical sequence...
eg. 'letmeintomyegoldaccount' could be typed as
'letintomyegoldaccount' click the mouse after the second * and type 'me'
the keylogger would get
''letintomyegoldaccountme'
NOT
'letmeintomyegoldaccount'
or
Mix up all the above...
Of course making sure you are protected against keyloggers in the first place is best... and make sure you have a good firewall to stop a keylogger contacting the internet as well wouldn't hurt.

Mda. Sfaturi excelente pentru I-cafe-uri, unde fara keylogger nu se poate, ca altfel nu s-ar sti care-i magaru...
Acasa, FW-ul sare in sus knd keyloggeru incearca sa raporteze... Asta dak nu e keyloggeru lu "taticu"

...d fapt nu ar trebui deloc incurajata treaba asta... 
Da iti zic atat: Atentie mare la ce fisiere iei dupa net si incearca sa ai un antivirus bun activ si la zi ... totusi nici asa nu esti 100% sigur. Oricum atentie sporita si sa sti ca faza cu tastatura virtuala e chiar geniala
